Truth telling to patients about cancer treatment - VIDEO
We know that when the diagnosis is cancer the primary task for doctors is to choose the most proper therapy for the medical case. But communication with the patient is also very important.
Does it make a difference how a doctor shares the diagnosis with the patient and how he explains the need for a radical and traumatic treatment?
What are the most common problems in doctor-patient communication?
These issues are addressed by Professor Dame Lesley Fallowfield, a well known psychologist. She works at the University of Sussex, England, as a professor for psycho-oncology.
CredoWeb interviewed her at a convention for psycho-oncology at the "Medizinische Univiversität Graz".
